USURY LAWS
Usury laws are laws that regulate the amount of interest that may be imposed on a loaned fund or asset. The purpose of usury laws are to do away with the malpractice of excessively charging high interest rates by placing limitations on the maximum amount of interest that may be levied in a trade. Basically, usury laws are there as a security for consumers.
