SPLASH CRASH

A splash crash, in essence, is the extreme version of a flash crash. It is hypothetical and spurred from the flash crash the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index experienced on May 6, 2010. The Index lost near 1000 points then regained approximately 600 points in a matter of minutes. The intense version, splash crash, is a hypothetical event where the crash would splash over to other markets like forex, bonds, commodities, etc.
