SOVEREIGN DEBT
Sovereign debt is the issued bond of the national government in a foreign currency. This is done to stimulate and finance the growth of the issuing country. A sovereign debt is riskier for a developing country than for a developed country due to the fact that stability in an issuing government is an essential factor. The stability may be seen in the sovereign credit ratings along with other national data.
