SOCIAL STYLE

Social style is an individual’s way of interacting interpersonally with other individuals. It was a style model established by the TRACOM Group that categorizes individuals by where they fall in a cardinal scale. The cardinal scale is composed of two opposing points: vertically aligned and horizontally aligned. The former measures the assertiveness of the individual while the latter measures how responsive or vocal an individual is to events. In vertically aligned has two traits: controls/emotes while the horizontally aligned has: tells/asks. This makes a grid of the four characteristic which will determine the social style as follows: control/ask is analytical, control/tell is driving, emote/tell is expressive, and emote/ask is amiable.
