SHORT TERM

There are four definitions of short term in the financial industry. First, it is generally the holding of an asset for a short period of time. Second, in the context of taxes, it is a holding period that is less than one year. Third, in the context of investing, it is a security whose maturity happened within one year or less. Last, in the context of accounting, it is the asset expected to be liquified in the following year. It also means the liability that is due in the following year. Short term here is also referred to a current assets and liabilities.
