NEW DRUG
New medication or therapy which has not been used before in a clinical practice to cure a condition or disease. In the United States, a new drug to be marketed must first secure approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This can be an innovative new compound categorized as a new molecular entity by the FDA, or related to a formerly approved product. It takes years and millions of dollar to obtain such approval, which has several processes.
