A dramatic and unexpected improvement in the investment performance of some stocks, partially driven when investors unexpectedly bought assets because they don’t want to miss out on generating potential profit, rather than by fundamental improvements in the economy. Increment made by a melt up are considered an unreliable indication of the direction the market is going to, which is often followed by meltdowns.
