MATERIAL AMOUNT

A significant movement of a security’s price which confirms or disprove the investor’s original predictor. A huge shift of material amount that refutes the investor’s original projection will trigger a stop-loss trade. Otherwise, slight price fluctuations during the trade would be considered immaterial.

It may also signify an amount that is noteworthy, as in financial statements or conference calls. If it is an immaterial amount, then it is considered too insignificant to be discussed.
