MASS PRODUCTION

Manufacturing standardized products on a large scale, oftentimes by utilizing assembly line technology. It is the process of producing greatest quantity of similar items while using fewest resources effectively. Usually, it is characterized by certain type of mechanization using an assembly line or another means of production in order to achieve high volume, elaborated organization of materials flow, meticulous quality standard control, and division of labor.

The process became well-known in 1900s. Also known as flow production, repetitive flow production, series production or serial production.
