LONG BOND

  1. The 30-year US Treasury Bond, the longest maturity bond issued by the US Treasury. The interest is paid semi-annually and is considered the most actively traded bond worldwide. The long bond is considered one of the safest securities because of its low default risk and it is backed by US Treasury.
  2. Any bond with a maturity period of 10 years or more. It has higher interest rates but bigger credit and inflation risk.
