LEMMING

An investor who follows the crowd in investing without doing any research on his/her investments. Usually, lemming results to significant losses. The investors are emotional and easily swayed by the current ongoings in the market, good or bad. Lemming, considered as a "herd" mentality, increase the chance of losing invested funds. Either the individual can leave the market too early to enter into it too late, when market prices are too high to yield a profit. The term has a negative connotation because a lemming, the animal, is known for following his pack off or cliff.
