LAYOFF
A company’s process of terminating an employee without evaluating the worker’s performance, whether temporary or permanent, that is usually done to resolve financial difficulties.
In finance, this is a method done by investment bankers to reduce risks of possible downfall, who has committed to buy all unsubscribed shares by stockholders holding rights. In other words, bankers are hedging against losses because of time.
