LANDLOCKED

A parcel of property without any direct access via public thoroughfare except through an adjacent lot. For instance, an empty lot behind a mall and can only be reached by passing through the mall is considered landlocked. A landlocked property is literally "locked-up" because it is surrounded by other buildings and may be hidden from view. Due to its inaccessibility, this type of land is worth less than other properties, making it more difficult to sell these lands.
