JAMES D. SLATER

A British investor, renowned investment author, and author of children’s books. He was also known for corporate turnovers and converted his investment company into an investment bank. Following the collapse of Slater Walker Securities during the UK recession in 1973-1974, he created a Sunday column in London’s Sunday Telegraph, which was his avenue for promoting his personal stock investment technique. Began his career as a chartered accountant in 1939, Slater is credited for inventing the price-earnings to earnings-growth ratio.
