JACOB SCHIFF

A banker, businessman, and philanthropist who was born in Germany. He became the director of many significant corporations including National City Bank of New York, Equitable Life Assurance Society, Wells Fargo, and Union Pacific Railroad. He also spearheaded Kuhn, Loeb & Company, an investment bank. His successes let him finance many things such as various railroads, donations to many Jewish causes, and Japanese military efforts in order to win the Russo-Japanese War between 1904 and 1905.
