INTERSTATE BANKING
Banking expansion throughout state lines from acquired companies. It became widespread in mid 1980s when Neal Interstate Banking and Branching Efficiency Act of 1995 permitted bank holding firms to purchase out-of-state banks on a reciprocal basis with other states, which resulted to the rise of both regional and national banking chains.
