INJUNCTION

Court order that prohibits an individual from doing something specific. The court awards injunction when monetary restitution is not enough to remedy the harm or leads to greater injustice. For instance, if an individual wrecks another person’s car, it is easy to place a monetary damage amount on the item. But if an individual threatens to sell your video in a compromising situation, it is more significant to stop the video from circulating than to quantify the damages.
