INHERITANCE TAX
Tax imposed on an individual who inherits assets from a deceased person. The tax rate for inheritance taxes depends on the asset value received by the heir or beneficiary and his/her relationship to the decedent. Occasionally called "the last twist of the taxman’s knife" and called "death duty" in some countries.
