INDIRECT TAX
Tax collected by increasing the price of a good, thus making the consumers pay the tax by paying more for the goods. It is most frequently thought of as a tax being transferred from one taxpayer to another, by price hike. Cigarette, liquor, and fuel taxes are all considered examples of indirect taxes, as many argue the tax is actually being paid by the end consumer by increasing the retail price.
