DOWN PAYMENT
Cash payment given for buying a product or service. Normally, the payment represents only a small percentage of the entire purchase. If the deal does not push through, the down payment is not refundable. The buyer makes the necessary financing arrangements to pay off the remaining amount owed to the seller.
