CONSTANT MATURITY
Adjustment for equivalent maturity used to calculate an index based on the average yield of several Treasury securities with different maturities. Used by the Federal Reserve Board, the US Treasury obtains yields on a day-to-day basis by interpolating the Treasury yield curve, which is then based on closing bid-yields of actively-traded Treasuries. This quoted yield is used in pricing debt securities issued by entities.
