COMMITTED CAPITAL
Contractual agreement obligating the investor to place money on the fund. Occurring between a venture capital fund and an investor, the former may either pay off all the committed capital at once or contribute to the fund periodically over a time period. Normally, it takes place within a number of years. Also called commitments.
