CHINA SECURITIES REGULATORY COMMISSION - CSRC

Main securities regulatory body in China, governing all securities exchanges and futures markets activity in the country. Established in 1992, its main responsibilities are the following:

  • Create and evaluate securities legislation
  • Regulate trading, issuing, and settlement of stocks, fixed income securities, and securities funds
  • Oversee conduct of shareholders and securities brokers
  • Manage issuance of overseas company listings and offerings

It also includes over 30 regulatory bureaus which encompasses several geographic regions of the country and two supervisory bureaus at the country’s two biggest stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzen.
