CHAIN-WEIGHTED CPI

Another gauge for the Consumer Price Index (CPI), taking into the account product substitutions the consumers made and other changes in their spending habits. It removes any biases on new products, any quality changes, and discounted pricing. It also integrates the average chances in the number of product purchases, aside from the normal pricing effects. This is considered a more precise inflation measurement than the conventional fixed-weighted CPI since it accounts the consumers’ purchasing decisions along with price changes.
