CAPITALIZED LEASE METHOD
Accounting method determining the firm’s lease obligations as an asset, as seen on its balance sheets. Although the company does not technically own the asset, the transaction is still economically beneficial to the lease holder. Using this approach, the costs are higher in the first few years and eventually, it declines during the term of the lease.
