CANADIAN DEPOSITORY FOR SECURITIES LIMITED - CDS
The depository of national securities in Canada, settlement and clearing hub. The Canadian Depository for Securities Limited, commonly known as CDS, gives a cost-effective and reliable depository, settlement and clearing services to members in Canada's fixed income, currency markets and equity. It was integrated in June 1970, as a reaction to surging price for back-office functions and doubled trading amounts in the Canadian capital market. CDS holds more than $3.5 trillion on deposit, and manages over 360 million cross-border and domestic securities exchanged yearly.
