BATTING AVERAGE
An investment manager's capability to beat or meet an index is calculated through a numerical system called batting average. By dividing the overall unit of days (or quarters, months, etc.) in the period of question to the overall days (or quarters, months, etc.) in which the investment manager surpass or matches the index and multiplying that element by 100, batting average is calculated.
