AVAL
A guarantee included to a debt obligation by a third party which is not neither the holder or payee, but provides assurance on the payment in case the issuing party turns to default. The debt obligation can be a promissory not, bond, note, bill of exchange or draft. The third party giving the aval is often a bank or other similar lending institution.
