  2. In the mutual fund business context, an advisor, also referred as investment advisor, is an organization hired by an investment company to take charge on the portfolio of a particular fund. The advisor of the fund then assigns one or more manager to conduct daily decision involved in the sale and purchase of securities of the fund in accordance with the stated investment objectives and strategies.
