ADVERTISING ASSOCIATION OF THE WEST - AAW

A regional advertising group situated on the American West Coast that was created for the purpose of upholding the high industry standard, and for the promotion and protection of the advertising trade. The Pacific Coast Advertising Men's Association, the predecessor of Advertising Association of the West, was created in 1904 through a combination of local advertising clubs. The AAW and its East Coast Counterpart -Advertising Federation of America (AFA), worked separately until 1967 in order to raise the advertising industry's standard through education and self-regulation.
