Investing strategy which employs financial leverage by shorting stocks with poor performance and acquiring shares with potential high returns. It indicates the investor feels he will surpass the market by shorting stocks up to 30% of the portfolio value and utilizing the funds to take a long position in the stocks. Frequently, investors mimic an index such as the S&P 500 when picking stocks for this technique.
