STERILE INVESTMENT
Investment that does not pay dividends or interest. All of its gains are generated from capital gains or price appreciation. Investors endeavor to profit from such investments solely through purchasing and selling the investment. Some examples of sterile investments include precious metals such as gold and silver, stocks without dividend, commodities, and bonds that trade flat.
