MAX PAIN
The point at which option contracts expire at the maximum loss. The term sprung from Maximum Pain theory, which means most investors who buy and hold options until its expiration will lose money. The theory adds it is because the tendency for the price of an underlying stock to move towards maximum pain strike price, where the greatest number of options will expire valueless.
