LIABILITY
Legal debts or obligations of a company that emerged in the course of its business operations. The liabilities are recorded in the company’s balance sheet and can include accounts payable, accrued expenses, deferred revenues, taxes, and wages. Present liabilities should be settled within one calendar year while long-term liabilities are payable over a long period. These can be settled through transferring of economic benefits like money, goods, or services.
