LEAVE-SHARING PLAN
A plan or structure that allows employees to share unused sick leave for the benefit of other employees who have maximized the allotted number of sick leave. This scheme is designed to aid employees who experience unexpected circumstances, major surgeries, medical emergencies or natural disasters. It varies from one employer to another.
A company must consider these factors in offering leave-sharing plan: To whom the employees are giving their sick leave and if the firm should limit the number of sick leave that can be donated.
