IRS NOTICE 433 - INTEREST AND PENALTY INFORMATION
A document provided by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that explains the interest rate applied on underpaid or overpaid taxes, and also the interest rate on underpayment of estimated taxes, penalties for submitting or paying late, and understating the tax owed to IRS. Interest rates may vary from time to time, but it normally ranges from 4%-10%. Federal law mandates IRS to know the interest rate quarterly and interest is enlarged daily except on late or underpaid estimated taxes.
