FEDERAL CALL
The requirement for a deposit amount which must be sufficient in order to comply with the Federal Reserve rules. This restriction is set by Regulation T of the Code of Federal Regulations. Currently the margin call is 50% for equities, and for short sales it is between 100% and 150% of the current market value of the security being sold short.
