EXTENDABLE SWAP
Exchange of cash flows between two counterparties. One party pays interest at a fixed rate while the other pays interest at a floating rate. In this swap, the fixed-rate payer is permitted to extend the agreement term if interest rates were increasing because it would profit from continuing to pay the fixed, below-market interest rate, and receive an escalating market interest rate from the floating rate.
