ERIC DANIELS

American banker and former group chief executive of Lloyds Banking Group Plc, one of the biggest banks in the United Kingdom. During his tenure in the institution, Daniels streamed the firm by selling its New Zealand and Brazil operations to improve earnings. Together with former Chairman Sir Victor Blank, he also led the acquisition of HBOS in 2008, initially generating multi-billion dollar losses for the company. After the 2008 global financial crisis, he was one of the few leaders of a British financial firm to retain his job. He waived his huge bonuses in 2008 and 2009 under social and political tension.
