EDWARD C. PRESCOTT

American economist who received the 2004 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics, together with Norwegian economist Finn Kydland, for his work on macroeconomic analysis of the business cycle and economic policy. Alongside Kydland, he disputed the Keynesian view of the business cycle in his 1982 paper. In their 1977 paper, both became popular for outlining the time inconsistency problems in economic policies.
