CHINA CURRENCY BILL
Potential law which would add tariffs to countries, mostly in China, that would undervalue their currency. Passed in 2011 by the US Senate, it aims to make imports more costly from these nations, balancing the trade deficit, and declining the countries’ unfair economic advantage. This is a controversial bill since China has enormous economic clout and one of America’s leading trading partners. China also has a lot of US debt.
