BUST-UP TAKEOVER
Corporate buyout in which the acquirer sells a certain piece of the target firm to repay the debt used in financing the initial buyout. The acquirer purchases the company by obtaining a debt and paying it off using the target’s assets once he has control. This strategy is employed when the target company has undervalued assets by which the acquirer aims to exploit.
